A Church Dedicated To The Worship Of And Service To Our Lord Christ Jesus |
Heaven's Store
A Poem Written By Lowell Harrelson To Glorify Our Lord God And Christ Jesus
In my dream I was shopping in a giant shopping mall,
When my eyes first encountered a little sign upon the wall.
"Enter here" the sign proclaimed, hanging gently on the door,
"Once inside you'll discover all the joys of Heaven's Store".
Softly then I moved forward, thinking what, I am not sure,
But once inside I was greeted by a feeling clean and pure.
Sweet, low music permeated every comer of the place,
While Angels tended all the "shoppers" with heavenly smiles upon their face.
"Take this basket", said the Angel, as I pondered what
to do,
"The only thing you must remember is all you take must
be for you".
Moving slowly down the aisle another Angel came in view,
Standing by a sign that read, "A pound of patience just
for you."
With a pound of patience in my basket I moved further
to explore,
What other gifts might yet await me on my first trip
to Heaven's Store.
"Take this bag of strength and courage", said the angel
I next met,
"This will last you forever, take it daily, don't forget".
I moved along, now more excited, on my heavenly
shopping spree,
Filling my basket with heaven's treasures, knowing they
are all for me.
Five pounds of love and much compassion filled my
basket to the top,
But eagerly I pressed forward shopping like I'd never stop.
A little dab of perseverance and faith enough
to last for life,
A bag of hope, tucked under arm, to assure my
passage through all strife.
At last I reached the check-out counter, with everything
I'd ever need,
Where another Angel quickly tallied all my cost
with lightning speed.
The total cost was overwhelming and to the Angel
I explained,
I am but a lowly worker, not a penny to my name.
"Have no fear", the Angel whispered, "in this store
you're never lost",
"Your bill was paid by your Father as he hung
upon a cross".
